Reccomend me some good movies.

So I'm working at a video rental store these days.
Long story short... lots of free time + lots of movies to choose from.  :smirk:
I'm looking for good oldies.  Classics, Westerns, BBC comedy, musicals, cartoons, etc.
I have to keep it PG though.  It is a family store.  :evil:

2001 is G,
the sequel, 2010, is PG. (2010 is much berated because it doesn't follow Kubrick's style, but it's a damn good flick taken on its own.)
The Hunt for Red October,
The Nightmare before Christmas,
Pee-Wee's Big Adventure,
Star Trek VI.

Those are all my 5-star rates on Netflix that are G or PG.

The Million Dollar Hotel, with Jeremy Davies and Milla Jovovich. The movie was developed by Bono (U2, like there's another Bono). He wrote the soundtrack too. Mel Gibson places a psycho cop. Cool flick about love, insanity, and suicide.

put cool hand luke at the top of that list and it's a really good one. Papillion is awesome but a little long at times. I'm also a big Eastwood and western fan.

The Wiz. Its kind of the "black" version of the Wizard of Oz. Diana Ross (I think) is Dorothy, Micheal Jackson (before he got weird) is the Scarecrow, and Richard Pryor is the wizard. It is weird.

Or just start going through all the Disney movies. As a child I loved them, and started watching them now and then in the last two years (I'm 20 now). They are some crazy jokes in those movies tailored to adults that you just don't get when you're little. I love it.

traffic is an excellent movie
so is fear and lothing

and hostel wasn't done by quentin it's eli roth's movie, the guy who made cabin fever which is another cool flick

have you seen reservoir dogs? kill bill 1 and 2 are both awesome
