Blue, White,Yellow and Black Reishi?

In the books I have read about Chinese medicine it says that the red Ling Zhi is the best out of the several different types that they catagorized based on color. According to them there are also the mentioned color variations of the Ganoderma species and indeed I am interested in attempting to cultivate such varities.

For one thing I am wondering if anyone has even seen these Ganodermas? If so it would be great for even a picture of such a marvelous Reishi. It would probably be difficult to find someone that would have spores available but I wonder if anyone here has any exprience with these types of Ganoderma at all.

Never heard anything about all of the colors personally. I didn't bother searching though.

I've researched this pretty extensively without much success. It appears the other colors of reishi are usually other species of polypores and not always in the Ganoderma genus. I did manage to find out that black reishi is Ganoderma sinensis (red is G. lucidum). And I may have tracked down the purple (maybe). I didn't get any real satisfying responses from any culture banks around the world, so its going to be a challenge to gather up all the colors. I am working on it, so you might want to periodically check with me.

Indeed that is the only picture I have been able to find as well. I have a book on Reishi mushrooms and there is also G. japiconium that has a very long and slender stalk that is black.

Keep us updated. Has anyone been able to cultivate the blue or black reishi?
How magified or watered down or different are the medicinal qualities.
Why havn't I found any black reishi in the wild?
