Why doesn't the USA just buy Mexico?
    #5968226 -

Then you won't need to build a fence......just have lower minimum wages for the state of Mexico, and you won't need to outsource.

I have thought about it alot, except my idea would just be to take it over with the ANG guys that are currently inactive. LMAO! I think it could bolster our economy.
Of course we would have to naturalize all of them.

Heres the key...keep the Mexican economy seperate, that way no one in the states are funding Mexicans.  A completely seperate economy, funded mostly by rich Americans who pay land taxes for their summer homes.  Not to mention all the land that could be turned into farmland.  And the USA would be outsourcing to a country they own, with lower labour wages, and much cheaper government costs.

If Mexico became apart of the US are entire economy would be dragged down with it.

Personally I see the USA expanding in the next 20 years, and Mexico seems more fitting than Canada, as Canada is pretty comfortable with the biggest oil exporter to the USA.

It took us a war and 13,000 american lives to gain texas, new mexico and part of california...

What makes you think that they will sell out and give us the rest?

Same thing happened to me when I played Neil Armstrong in Moonshot. They found me in an alley in Burbank trying to re-enter the earth's atmosphere in an old refrigerator box.

Well, as long as they keep the welfare payments very low......shouldnt be a problem.  Plus they are only lazy because they need more education......

That would make little difference. Right now we are free to trade with Mexico under NAFTA. If Mexico joined the US they would be integrated with our market regardless of whether they had a seperate economy or not.

Plus even the idea of merging Mexico would deeply wound our nation's pride.

hahahaha! awesome!

really though, i think if america and the US decided to combine it would defintely be to the benifit of both.
one of the paths to a better future i can imagine would involve the peaceable expansion of the US.

Aye, NAFTA is good, but if the USA owned Mexico there wouldnt be a rush to illegally work in the USA, if there was enough work in Mexico to support them.

Can't hurt to expand the USA as long as you keep the 50 states, and just add territories the USA owns. That way they can keep different tax and minimum wage laws, making it a prime country for outsourcing, but outsourcing within a US territory.

Then the USA would be full of even more Mexicans. I guess they could buy it and kick them all out, southward.
