external hard drive back-up
    #5850661 -

I am working on my fathers home network, and he wants to take an 80gig external drive and make a complete back-up of his c:/ on his laptop that would be bootable in case of an emergency....

how would I go about doing this>?

yeah, I read that already... all that really told me was what files are needed on the USB drive...

I'm looking for more of a drag and drop method...

I don't want to waste half of my life toying with shitty windows...

If the laptop supports it, you would be able to boot to the USB device but first you'd have to boot to a recovery console and run 'fixmbr' on the new drive.
