DiCaprio To Star In Leary Biopic

Hollywood, CA (AHN) - Actor Leonardo DiCaprio is set to star in a film about the life story of late writer and psychologist Timothy Leary.

According to Variety, the 'Aviatior' star plans to produce the film through his production company, Appian Way.

Screenwriter Craig Lucas and Leary archivist Michael Horowitz, will also work on the film, by developing a screenplay.

The film will follow LSD advocate Leary from his life in West Point in the 1940s to his escape from prison in the 1970s.

As a counterculture icon during the 1960s and 70s, Leary is most famous as a proponent of the therapeutic and spiritual benefits of LSD.

During the 1960s, he coined and popularized the catch phrase "Turn on, tune in, drop out."

It is said that DiCaprio befriended Leary before his death in 1996.

L D has really surprised me with most of his films. At first I thought he was just another jekoff actor, but he has really stepped up to the plate with films like Aviator, Catch Me If You Can, and The Beach.

I look forward to seeing this new film.

Yea I think there's alot of prejudice against DiCaprio since he was in Titanic, but he has proven himself as a skilled actor. I look forward to this film

the beach was this movie about decaprios caracter finding his way to some uncharted island where a bunch of hot chicks live a kind of utopia, i thought the whole idea of a perfect island was cool it had some dumb love story stuff thrown in
