What is it?
I vote for Wish you were here by Pink Floyd

Can't pin it down exactly, and it does depend on the mood of the trip, but the following always work for me:
Vespertine - Bjork Electric Ladyland, Wild Blue Angel - Hendrix Meddle, Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd The Doors, Strange Days - The Doors The "White" album - The Beatles Tales of the Inexpressible, Nothing Lasts but Nothing is Lost - Shpongle American Beauty, Live @ Filmore '69 Disc 2 - Grateful Dead Takk - Sigur-Ros Tea for the Tillerman - Cat Stevens Bryter Layter - Nick Drake
& many more I can't think of...
I tend to find different parts of the trip require different music, I always tend to get a selection of 10 or so albums laying them out in an order that follows the following structure:
Calm/mellow Organically progressing music (eg Shpongle, Bjork) More energetic, rougher music Folky, contemplative Funky
Although I rarely stick to exactly what I've laid out, it's a good thing to fall back on if you're wandering around, tripping balls and in need of structure.

Throwing a vote in for Massive Attack's 100th Window and Mezzanine. That was the high point (hah) of my last trip. It was super intense and powerful. But like everyone else said, the best is whatever you're grooving on at the moment while tripping.

The first time I ate mushrooms I put DSOTM on repeat and heard it at least five times.
