Statute of limitations on user names

You know, as I remember, when someone tries to become a new member of the Shroomery, it is very difficult to find a user name that has not been taken. I put in tons of names that were all rejected because someone already had them. I ended up getting frustrated, and putting in "learyfan", and when it accepted it I said "fuck it", even though it wasn't my first or 500th choice.I have never seen those people with the names I wanted once, since i've been here.

I say we find a way to go through all of the user names that have not been used in........oh say, 2 years, and put them up for grabs. Most of them probably posted once or twice and left.

I hope it won't be too hard to do this. It's a good idea, no?

it's actually been done before, believe it or not. on at least one occasion all users with 0 posts were erased. i don't know about users who were inactive for a long time, though....

I got mine first try too, man! Except I wanted to change after a while, but I said "fuck that" and went with this one for good.

We'll do another purge soon...

What would be nice is to remove any account that has say 5 or less posts and hasn't been used in over 1yr. Also get rid of inactive accounts from over 1 1/2yrs.....
