Rotting while drying?

I've heard of some people's fruits rotting while they are drying them in the chamber with damp-rid. I plan on using damp rid in a drying chamber..I will take my fruits from my cake and put them directly into the chamber. Is this a bad idea? I wont have the opportunity to fan them and this is my only option. I was just wondering what the chances are of my fruits rotting in there... Thanks.

Mr Nobody-
The Temple Priests have forsaken the damp-rid/chamber thing - And have opted for a large flat screen, and thinly cut shrooms.
The screen allows air to circulate around the fruit, and in 1 - 4 days depending on amounts, fruits are cracker dry-
Sometimes a paper towel laid on top of fruit helps protect from sunshine, and wicks away moisture-
So, far, potency is at its peak, and no messy, stinky damp rid to deal with afterwards.

It is important that they not touch each other during the first
stages of drying to avoid rotting. After they are parcially dried
it doesn't matter as much.:peace:

A fan is a must. There is no way damp rid
will fully dry fresh shrooms in the chamber.
I know from experience. As for cutting them
in half. Not a bad idea, but the more psilocybin
and psilocin exposed to air, the less potent the
crop becomes.

I put mine on a rack made from bug screen. No fan, no dessicant, rock hard in 3-4 days. My humidity is also kept at under 20 percent in the room where they're dried.

Pat,

Lets put it this way.
If you can follow dirrections....you will be fine.
Start out with the PF tek.....and work into other Teks.
If you start out trying to change stuff around in the beginning.....your gonna mess up big time.
And remember to be very sterile.....work in a clean enviroment.
Be almost anal about being clean.
