i might miss all those shows. i was originally planning on just going to 10klf, and maybe some midwest phil shows before that - but these east-coast phil&friends w/ trey&gordon&russo/duo shows are just a bit too much to pass up. hopefully i can work things out to go from them to the midwest phil shows, to 10klf. but i'd sacrifice that last leg for the early july phil shows

i think i'm going to ditch out on bonnaroo. this phil tour will take the majority of my summer savings, and if there is anything left, i'll either go to 10klf or india to visit my grandparents. the people i really wanted to ride with are going from colorado > west coast > wakarusa > bonnaroo, so i can't hitch with them. there are a few other rides of people going from here, but the thought of phil&friends w/ trey&gordo&russo/duo is a bit too appealing for me.

soundtribe tomorrow in detroit, though :sun:

 bonnaroo is too fucking huge for my taste, too. it was great fun in 03, and the first time i'd ever seen bobby & phil share the stage - but i tend to prefer touring from show to show rather than being at a festival. you usually get into a lot stranger scenarios, meet crazier people, and get lost a lot

I saw bobby and phil play together for the first time in the 90's when they toured on furthur festival billed as the other ones....

this was four years at least before the other ones toured in 01... I did that one too.

Yeah that's why they aren't allowing taping for those two shows.

"Phil Lesh & Friends are pleased to announce that we will be filming our upcoming sold out shows at The Warfield Theater on May 18th and 19th for what will be our inaugural DVD release. We plan on making these shows very special by featuring a wonderful lineup of fabulous musicians performing together in one of our favorite concert venues. We invite all of you who are planning on attending to participate in the revelry and wear your finest festive garb, as there will be film crews inside and outside the Warfield filming and documenting the entire Phil Lesh & Friends concert experience. It is for this reason that there will be absolutely NO Taping at these shows and we ask that you please respect our wishes. We look forward to sharing these very special musical evenings with you in San Francisco."
