Help Identifying german post
    #5559019 -

In class today our teacher showed us a picture of some sort of post thing that is common on German sidewalks. Im wondering if anyone can help me identify it, maybe a german member of the shroomery (if there are any). Ill keep looking for a picture, but I cant find one now.

Its a blue post, maybe about 5 or 6 feet tall. They are located on the sidewalk near the road in German cities. It appears to be metallic, and it seems to be some sort of lever, like there is a joint on it where it could fold over. It is sort of thick, not like a road sign, they looked about a foot in diameter. There is no sign or markings on it at all.

Any help? sorry for the lack of a picture.

Hmm. In Dresden and Berlin they have big-ass pipes, like 9" diameter, that go along sidewalks, and they sometimes bend over the road in funny shapes. I followed one once, and apparently they were using it to pump ground water out of a new building's foundation into the river.

Here's one in Dresden.
