Season Length's 1

this is something i have never understood.. why NHL, NBA, and esp MLB have sooooo many regular season games.. i mean seriously who needs 150 games to play.. what does that prove? all it does is take away the meaning of each game in my opinion.. now im not saying that it should go down to 16 games like NFL.. no.. im mearly suggesting that each league have what, maybe 50 games.. hell thats still a lot.. it just seems like in each of those sports the games individually dont mean much.. i mean if u win a series 2-1.. hell thats good.. 66% is good.
id just like to see each league dig deep down and limit the number of regular season games.. make every game count.

WEll, every year in baseball there are 1 or 2 divisions that come down to the last weekend of play, even after 162 games. A game that you should have won in April could end up screwing you at the end of the season. There's also the wild card, which almost always goes down to the last week as well.
I don't think that it is too many games, especially for the pitchers. Starting pitchers can't play every day and would only get 10 or so starts if the season was 50 games.

theres wild card and playoff races in every sport.. the number of games has no bearing on whether theres a playoff battle or not

they play that many games cuz thats how it is! are you trying to suggest less games? Which would likely increase ticket prices? and also lessen the amount of games i can watch when im bored on a day off?? For shame

The baseball season is the length it is because that is pretty much what the climate allows. The NFL season is the length it is because that is what human anatomy allows. The NBA and NHL seasons are the length they are because.... I have no fucking idea. Zero games in each would suit me just fine

baseball season is a marathon.. not a sprint. its always been that way, and will always be that way... it would be really lame if they only played like 50games. some peoples averages would be out of control high and others would be dismal... thats whats good about the long season.. it evens everything out. cause nobody can really stay hot for 5months straight.
and ticket prices depend on what team your going to see.. and where you wanna sit...
the highest average prices for tickets go to
1. red sox 41$ 2. cubs 33$

Tickets are pretty expensive for Astros games but i dont remember how much they are...You can spend 100$ pretty damn quickly at a game if you drink some beers and eat some hot dogs

tickets are expensive for all sports games.. those numbers are just averages.. you could easily spend 100$ plus on just 1 ticket if you wanna get a decent seat..
man. if your gonna buy some beer and food too.. you better bring at least 50$ extra.. its like 10$ for 24 oz of beer.. and 8$ for a little freakin hot dog... thats where they really get ya

just another reason i love nascar, they let you carry beer in with you! i went to my first race last fall at charolette and i carried a cooler slam full of beer in with me. when you can carry your own in with you $100 for tickets and slightly pricey food don't seem so bad...oh yeah Jimmie won that one too

Hah, you should try buying tickets to big boxing or MMA fights. Good seats will run you over a grand, easy.
