They can take your money, your house, and even the clothes on your back. But they cannot take what you know. So Learn. Learn everything." - Eugene Schoenfeld
Do you think it is possible to learn everything, I'd say no because there is so much to learn, what do you think?
But, it is possible to learn LOTS about various different subjects.
This thread is really about what you think are important things to learn. So what subject/s do you think that everyone or most people should know?

Yourself.
-------------------- Acid doesn't give you truths; it builds machines that push the envelope of perception. Whatever revelations came to me then have dissolved like skywriting. All I really know is that those few years saddled me with a faith in the redemptive potential of the imagination which, however flat, stale and unprofitable the world seems to me now, I cannot for the life of me shake. -Erik Davis

Indeed. That is key.
I suffer from the urge to learn everything, as well as be totally self-reliant and independent. This is not good, on one hand, as you tend to become a jack of all trades, yet master of none. I think the only way to really accomplish something major is to specialize.
I cannot bring myself to do this. I want to be able to do everything on my own, and get the experience necessary to fulfill some of my major goals single-handedly.
Good point WMR.
I have an urge to learn everything too, i have no idea why that is though, maybe i just have a thirst for knowledge.

Dr Schoenfeld said this in a lecture in one of my classes. i dont think one person can know everything at one time because everything is always changing, it would be impossible to keep up. but i think his point was to learn as much as you can so can find what really interests you. once you find that, you can focus on something to give your life purpose. dr schoenfeld was a holocaust survivor. he was 19 when he got out of the concentration camp, and his family, his home, everything he had ever owned was taken from him. he had to really do some searching before he found purpose in life again.
