In other words, what music do you have yet to conquer fully and why? Or what are you currently doing with music? (and why)
First of all I'm not sure if everyone does this, but I go through cycles with my music. I'll be huge into one style for a few months and explore different areas of it, then move on. There are always certain varieties that I focus in on after a while and then they just become my main focus. I think this is mainly the result of my widespread appreciation of music (e.g. there's too much music out there to listen to it all at once).
Right now I'm getting *huge* into old school rap. I bought "The Great Adventures of Slick Rick," by Slick Rick and "Paid in Full," by Eric B. & Rakim - both fantastic buys - esp. for only 9.99! I love old school rap for trueness, authenticity and just the roots feel of the rhymes, rythms, lyrics. I just love the idea of these folks spittin rhymes on street corners in the innercity during the 80s. These guys were true artists; modern rap is uncomparable to this material. It makes me want to be able to freestyle really bad though
I plan on getting my shit together with classical and jazz. I've been lookin around jazz and I had a decent run through classical a while ago but I havn't thorough investigated these styles yet. I feel a strong pull in the classical direction - I think there's a lot to offer there that I havn't noticed before. Lately I've been listening to a Beethoven concerto a lot, umm.. lemme check, yeah "Piano Concerto No. 1 in C major." I'm also a real big fan of Tchykovsky and I love Grieg's "Peer Gynt Suite."

I have no idea what music i'm going to be seeking after in the future. That's the exciting part. Lately bluegrass/jazz/blues.
I listen to a lot of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones.. a mix of jazz, bluegrass, funk.
