Piano concerto suggestions
    #10307911 - 05/08/09 12:37 PM (14 years, 11 months ago)

Please!

After listening to random composers and music on the radio, I realized recently that one of my favorite all time types of classical arrangements are piano concertos...so I downloaded some bach piano concertos and they are incredible!

Any suggestions? I'm not sure if entire suites or something are piano concertos, so should I be looking for several "songs" that are supposed to be together? This bach piano concerto has some from one setting here and 2 or 3 from another, etc. I'm just not sure how piano concertos work in the first place.  Would they be part of as symphony or would they make up a symphony? or suite, or what have you.

Any recommended composers? I'm really diggin this Bach. I have some random Mozart so I dug out the piano concertos in that and liked it a lot..but again, I don't know where to find concentrated Mozart piano concertos.

Thanks a bunch!

I am a pretty good composer, I think.

Seriously, tell me where to upload my stuff.  I do contemporary classical piano.

Otherwise, I really enjoy Rachmaninoff.

I'm not sure where people upload things to...so I can't really help you there. I would definitely like to hear your music....but I thought that piano concertos refer specifically to orchestral arrangements that center around piano? not just piano playing.

Good suggestion - I should look for some Rachmaninoff also. From what I remember I've always enjoyed him.

That's some nice stuff, Qubit. I like Chopin quite a bit and Debussy a little less. Chopin is a bit too raucous for what I'm looking for...btw how did you upload that Chopin? maybe that'll help Ped out and that way I can upload some samples of what I'm looking for.

Prokofiev is almost comically amazing.

I also really like Beethoven's last few works he wrote, they are actually quite modern sounding and notably different than his earlier works.

You get an option to upload when you are at your 'post preview' screen.  Under your previewed post is a dialog about uploading a file.
