Question for my fellow chain smokers.

What do you do if you run out of smokes and have no way to get any unless you walk a few miles to the nearest store??

A. Get extremely drunk, smoke a few clips out of the ashtray, try to pass out, and have somebody make a run to the store early a.m.

or

B. Bite the bullet and walk to the store.

I haven't been without a pack of smokes in years. :evil: Guess this could be an opportune time to try and quit. How bad is it going cold turkey after smoking a pack & 1/2 daily for seven years? Honestly I'm just worried about getting to sleep, it's a must to have a full cigarette while laying in bed before passing out for the night.

man that is EXACTLY how I quit smoking. I too had not run out of a pack of smokes, I always made a point to get another before I was dry again. So the one night I was too lazy to go to the store, which was a 15 min walk mind you, so I decided on a whim to try and quit for like the 7th time. I did it cold turkey, and I feel that is the ONLY way to quit. Yea you are a little edgy for a week or two, a little snappy. But ppl will put up with it cuz you are quitting! I say do it, if I can you can too. I also smoked for 7 yrs. It must be the lucky number. Good luck to you!

well, I generally stay out of a chain smokers way when they're fiending, and I imagine you're pretty irritable and have some heavy duty insomnia. but yeah I didn't see that. weening off it is probably the best way to go, but maybe the least likely you have of actually quitting, in my experience

After a few more drinks right before bed may pull the good old glass piece out the woodwork, which I've still yet to clean (hasn't been used in over a year), fill it up with tobacco from buts, and top with a little resin. :yesnod:

Also I haven't smoked bud in over a year.. (except for a few occasions) Figured a hit or two of resin on top would help me to sleep.

I was a 2 to 3 pack a day smoker.

Going cold turkey is the only way that I can quit smoking.
I have quit several times.
Seems like I always pick the habit back up when I have some really stressful crap going on in my life.

Quiting really sucks and it can be a real bitch...at first.
but its worth it in the end.
I'm usually feeling pretty shitty for the first 4 or 5 days.

I'd compare it to getting off heroin or an opium addiction.
Really makes me mean and nasty for a few days...while my body is de-toxing.
I sleep alot and cough up alot of crap out of my lungs.
Black licorice...really helps take the edge off.
And using a squeeze ball or some therapy puddy...to keep my hands busy has always been helpful.
