Well i was wondering how to determine if a 1100 watt single electric
burner, would heat a AA 921 21 quart to 15 p.s.i.The burner is so small compared to the cooker.I mean in circumferense.

im not sure but i know u can get those burners on sale for under 15 bucks canadian. mine gones pretty damn hot too. it might take a longish to heat the PC up but remeber when the PC is at 15psi the burner is turned down. with my smaller PC at 15 psi im running at almsot teh lowest setting so i'll just say it WILL work. id be more worried about that things weight on the burner after repeated use.

Just to be on the safe side.
I would find/get/acquire a restaurant or lab grade hot plate.
Those little cheap ones, are just that.

AA PC's are heavy buggers & a lot of heat transfer is involved.
The cheap ones are not built for that.

you can find lab & restaurant grade hot plates.
All over ebay.

I have have one that's the same size from kmart

It works fine for my 18 qt, I have to turn it down once it gets to 15psi. You'll be fine with that one, just make sure to center it well before you turn it on.

@agar, man you must have a lot of room to be storing all this crap. You have so many gadgets and toys, where do you keep it all? I share half a room, so for people in my situation, the smaller burners are the only way to go. But that one you have pictured looks sweet.

i have the same durabrand burner and a 23 quart PC.....this burner will work fine but it takes me about 3 1/2hours just to get it up to 15p.s.i. and it only comes on and off every few minutes to heat the element....i bought mine for $10 from wal-mart!

AA 921 weighs 18 lbs EMPTY.
About twice that, with water & full content of jars, or bags.

AA 941 (STERILIZER)weighs about 80 lbs loaded full.

after looking at them two cookers (AA921-AA941)they look much more heavy duty and a bit more weight cause of the metal to metal seal...weight don't seem to be a problem for me... it works fine for me(aside from the long heating times just to get to 15 p.s.i. and short ass power cord) but i have a presto 23qt and it is much lighter than what those two cookers look to be...also when it gets to 15p.s.i. because then element don't stay on but for 1min every other min the temps go down for a sec and the "bobber or rocker" slows its rocking then the element comes back on and brings the temps up again but the p.s.i. gauge still always stays pretty close to 15 p.s.i. the only reason i dont like to use it anymore is cause of how long it takes to cook with it... now i just always use my stove range.
