Black Sabbath Vol. 4
    #5424506 -

So once upon a time I listened to metal, and lots of shitty shitty "heavy" bands. My attire was mostly black. I was glum and depressed 99 prcent of the time. I smoked black clove cigarettes and tried to read Camus.

Then I started smoking lots and taking mushrooms and acid and what not and my whole prspective on shit changed and with that my taste in music, and I stopped listening to lots of heavier stuff.

And somehow I lost sight of the fact that Black Sabbath isn't some cheesy metal band...I mean I always loved Ozzy but I just dropped Black Sabbath compeltely after senior year of high school.  And right now I'm listening to Vol. 4 and I can'tbelieve how fucking rocking it is. It's one of the best CD's I've listened to in fucking months.

Supernaut and Snowblind are my favorite songs of the day.

Acid doesn't give you truths; it builds machines that push the envelope of perception. Whatever revelations came to me then have dissolved like skywriting. All I really know is that those few years saddled me with a faith in the redemptive potential of the imagination which, however flat, stale and unprofitable the world seems to me now, I cannot for the life of me shake.

I fucking LOVE Black Sabbath, I've recently been renewing my love for good heavy metal.

In fact I should be out downloading some now but I'm lazy.

What is most amazing is if you see them in concert, the songs come across even heavier. It blows you away. Serious moshing.

If a new band came out with Vol 4 and Sabotage today they would rule the music world.
