I don't know about real fighting, but Bruce was definitely the king of martial arts in film. I don't think there will ever be another man like Lee on the silver screen, or that they will ever be able to make martial arts movies with the same excitement and energy.

Making the comparison between MMA UFC style competition fighters and Bruce Lee is not a good one. UFC style fughters don't train to kill one another. Bruce Lee trained on how to kill you as fast as possible if you fucked with him. Then this was adapted to movies and sport fighting. In a battle to the death, Bruce would most likely destroy one of those fighters, and a lot quicker than you'd think. If there's one thing I've noticed about UFC style fighting...it's that it's sloppy and leaves one open to the one crucial strike that will end the fighter's life.

so true... lol, the jeet kun do school in la teaches people but kicks, eye gouging, ear slaps, head butts, etc. crazy...
although before he died he was studying ground technique and arm bends, etc.
the only thing that some of the ufc guys have over him is their size... but with speed and technique i think bruce would pulverize them... (and lets not forget, even though he was small, he was still strong as hell).

i didnt read all 7 pages, but an interesting perspective would be instead of bruce lee fighting the guys of today in the ring...the guys of today fighting bruce lee back in the day in his element. not in some ufc ring, but just in a field/dojo somewhere.
i think this is where bruce would really shine. i dont think they would stand a chance.
now if you put bruce in a ufc ring with the best ufc guy, i dunno...i could see it going either way. but if you switch it around it becomes much more apparent whod win. at least in my opinion.

for some reason i remember thinking that bruce lee doesn't even have more than 1 or 2 recorded fights. he was more of an actor than a fighter from what i remember, people just think he's some sub-human beast for some reason.

Speed, striking power and most importantly, sense of timing when and where to strike.

Not to mention he is the most captivating and charasmatic human being of all time. There is never such a thing as too much Bruce Lee.:drooling:

I've posted about him in S&P more times then I can remember just on his philosophical approach alone, he drew from the best and created his own that can be applied to any of lifes challenges. He so rules!

If anyone were to dig up a recorded fight, at best it would be some phoney orchestrated demo where bruce went easy on his opponent with it made to look real.

He didn't fight for realz because he trained to KILL. What legal fight allows instant death before the ref knew what just happened. They would have to run the camera replaying at slow speed to figure out why the other guy was lying there dead before the bell finished ringing.

If the rules stated he had to hold back from a quick kill, it wouldn't be a legitimate fight anyway so why would he bother.

He said himself, "If I fight it's to kill so I don't fight because I will kill you."

They would have to make special rules for a fight with him like first guy with his ass knocked to the ground looses and bruce would win that in the first 5 seconds.

Oh, and not only does he eat nails for lunch, he can later shoot them from out of his finger tips at 1000mph. :yesnod:
