Is kratom really anything like an opiate?

one of my favorite kinds of highs is the kind I get from hydrocodone or other types of opiates. I was wondering if kratom is anything like this. I've read comparisons but is it even near as euphoric?

kratom CAN produce affects very similar to hydrocodone. i felt like i had to get "lucky" to get anything at all from kratom. my first time was the best and most pleasant, after that it was shit.
ive done kratom 5 times with 10 grams of "premium comercial" each time. drinking the tea is maybe one of the most horrible things ive ever forced myself to do. the taste is just completely disgusting. i gag at least 2 or 3 times just trying to get the shit down.
even if i do get any good affect from kratom the tea makes my stomach so fucked that all i can do is lay on the couch and hope it will be over soon. if i get up il puke.
so im pretty much done trying to fuck with kratom. i would possibly try an extract someday but from what people have told me the extrtacs are not worth the money.

Sorry to hear that
Kratom can definately center me like nothing else, I have gotten extreme euphoria, CEVs and really good nods without nausia off from the old stuff. I wish it was still available, I'm hesitant to try the new products too for the same reason.

I mix the straight powder with honey, drink some highly caffienated coffee and smoke some herb. I've heard some just don't get anything (shrugs shoulders) night time doses are much better than daytime IMO. I also use ginger to ease the stomach.

What was your method of preparation(s) and what type of leaf were you working with?
Some people do get blazed on this stuff, I really don't know why it doesn't work for you

I don't specifically know what you mean by the "old stuff" but I thought I'd let you know that I've been extremely pleased with the "premium commercial" from shamanspalace. It's just plain leaf and for the money it's the best, imo.

The old stuff being commercial, premium, and super premium. Now its premium commercial and 15x. My friend has some of the new premium commercial from SP, I think I will give it go before I make any more wild asumptions. What is your dosage? Do you make a tea or eat it straight?

my experience is that eating the powder does nothing. i think this stuff needs to be boiled then drank, still containing the powder.

Yea same here. And the stuff has to be done strictly in moderation. The tolerance gain is rediculous, so you should do it every other day in order to get your moneys worth.

I can find a similarity with kratom and opium. One is banned and the other will be banned from junkies' abuse eventualy.

I have some kratom available from my own plants if anyone is interested. $5 for 1/2 oz sent anywhere in USA. I can vouch for the fact that no pesticides were used on it. That's more than you can say about most commercial stuff.

I talked my friend out of nine grams of the new 'commercial premium' is this a reasonable dose? I was planning to grind to powder, mix with honey, and down some hot coffee as that's how I usually go about it.
