I just spent a whole bunch of hours playing through part of Half Life 2 again.

And it reminded me: the Half Life 2 physics engine is really, really awesome. It's the best physics engine made in a game to date, and things just behave so close to the way they should. Combined with the great detail and realism of the Half-Life 2 environment's graphics, and fucking around in the game is the closest you can get to doing those things in real life. It's fun just playing around with the physics and the gravity fun, even if you neglect the rest of the game while you do it.

I just wish I could afford to purchase a non-pirated version so I can use Garry's Mod. That's a mod which built a whole game around playing with the physics.

I plan on buying the collector's DVD edition of HL2 when I get the chance and money, I just haven't had either yet.
