actually I don't think there is a single valid reason why monogamy is preferable, 'cos in nature, everything shags with total abandon!!

its not necesarily that theyre turned on by emotion. women need security. they want to make sure you wont leave her alone when shes old and wrinkly

I think Bom's right, theres this strange emotional level to it.  However, to me that doesn't mean comittment.

I think the commitment thing does come from hollywood, its nice to have that comittment, but its not necessary.

Many animals mate for life. Others, wolves for instance, mate for as long as their mate lasts, then usually go into something resembling our mourning, then eventually will take on another female.

And I suppose I'm one of the few males that are pro-marriage. I actually look forward to it...someday...
