Now that my old site has been shut down, I just open google and search "insert title here" bass tab. Usually works.

You can make up your own stuff with that program.

Anyway...I'm not that creative. I play because I love music. I will never join a band. Occasionally I mess around and see what kind of stuff I can come up with, but that's not what I focus on.


So...WeAreAllOne, tell me how you like the program once you get the hang of it. :wink:

Des did you get bass lessons?  Or Teach yourself with online lessons?

I wan't to start practising, but I can't afford lessons and can't find a good website wieht them :frown:

I did not get lessons.

I already know how to play the violin and piano, so that kinda gave me a jumpstart on learning. I actually just read a lot of tabs. Try using different techniques.

I use my fingers right now, but I'm training myself to use a pick. Some songs just sound better with a pick.

So, no lessons. Just self teaching.

I should get lessons though.

Does anyone know sites that have bass lessons? I don't want to read tabs and end up with really bad form or habbits.

You'd probably be better off buying an introductory bass book. You don't need a book to practice finger-picking or popping/slapping. Just practice and familiarize yourself with your instrument. Focus on reading music after you're confortable with it.

You should learn to talk before you can learn to read.

Yeah, I have a DVD and basic bass guides. I also have friends who play the bass, who don't mind giving me tips.

I'm not completely solo on this.

Google bass lessons. You'll fins A LOT. I go to those as well.

I used to think like that, but learning other peoples stuff really does expand your horizons.
