Looks like exactly like the first time I made my own. Waterbottle, some gum, and a shitload of aluminum foil.

Hahaha, I have done that so many times. Just don't make a habit of it, the aluminum is very bad to smoke.

I'll be the first to say it, just because I feel a medical responsibility to my fellow man.

Aluminum DOES release fumes when it is heated. These fumes ARE toxic. Toxic fumes DO cause lung damage and irritation.
If there is any "if" or "maybe" in that equation somewhere, I haven't seen it yet.

A cheap bowl and stem is $3.50 around here. Do your body good, come on. A bell reducer and a 1/8" dia pipe nipple is also a very good ghetto choice. Health-safe... for the most part.

True.

hell I don't even have a job and yet I always used better materials. The increase in quality is worth the bit of extra cost. You wind up with a bong that will actually last you a while, too. So that nearly nonexistant investment will last a long time. Can't get any more economical than that.
