I live in Anchorage, I'm down here visiting my parents for a month to take a break from the Alaskan winter. I knew I should have thought ahead on the bud situation though.

It's absolutely amazing in the summer, but now that I can't play hockey anymore the winters just don't do it for me anymore. Beautiful place, great bud (we're really spoiled, you have to look hard just to find bad weed).

It's starting to get depressing though. All my friends that are doing something with their lives are getting out of the state, going to college or wherever their path takes them, and many friends that aren't going anywhere sit around and drug up all day long for lack of anything else to do. It's getting bad, I can get anything under the sun for a good price at the drop of the hat, half the reason I'm on vacation right now is to get away from all that stuff.

Don't let me ruin it for you though, Alaska is an amazing place, there's just definatly a side to it you'd be better off not seeing.

Sounds the same as every other place I've been..in relation to the druggies vs going somewhere people.

Alaska grabs my attention with the pristing beauty, long days(how do you like that?), and excellent hunting(do any yourself?).
If it weren't cold, it would be perfect.

Out of curiosity, what are the prices for bud there?

I think I'll go to Alaska for summers every year no matter where I am (At least I hope to). Summers are just awesome, light all the time, being able to go hiking with your buddies and some beer and 1 AM and look down on the city is awesome. The sky and mountains are absolutely beautiful in the summer.

I prefer fishing to hunting, but yeah it's a paradise for a hunter up here. It's fun having a moose walk right up to your door and start eating your garden, freaks the hell out of people from the lower 48.

Bud prices are a bit steep, but the quality usually makes up for it. Sure you can get good buds anywhere, but the regular standard in Alaska is INCREDIBLY higher, we really are spoiled. 8ths are 40, Ounces 260ish, QP's 940ish.

Aww man, you're lucky. I didnt sleep all night. I left around 2:30 or 3 am and just got home. Family shit, my uncle was all stressed out about some bullshit. Went and hung out with him for a few hours and ended up staying up all night. I'm having a few early morning beers before bed. :cheers:
