Stocks

Anyone have any suggestions for good investments or symbols to short sell? I have a few in mind, but I'm curious if anyone has any good recommendations.

I would buy what Jim Cramer says to buy. And if he's wrong, he's still entertaining to watch.

I can't handle Jim Cramer for longer than ... well I just can't handle Jim Cramer.

He is very good at what he does though, just not my cup.

My dad's a rather well-known trader...quite successful at it...and says "don't ever listen to those jokers on TV...do your own research."

He wrote a book or two didn't he?

There used to be a feature in The Economist that illustrated the futility of trying to predict the stock market by having people in the industry pick several stocks and pit their performance against stocks picked from throwing darts at the financial section of the times.

Turns out slightly over half the time the random 'dart' stocks outperformed the professional picks. The market is like an enigma wrapped in a riddle thrown into a box of mystery.

Biotechnologies are on the way up.

Same thing with many of the nanotechnologies.

Hope this helps.

I am curious,---why are you only interested in making a short sale if you do not already have a particular stock in mind? There is more risk involved in shorting stocks.

If you think that the overall market is going to tank soon then I would suggest that you take a look into the mini-Dow futures. Of course, this can be a lot more riskier, but the rewards can be much more greater as well.

Either way, you are much better off doing your own research. We are lucky to be living in an age where this wealth of information is available for free at our fingertips when it was not too long ago that this same information was only available to professionals, usually at a steep price.
