So apparently this company has created some kind of solution/spray that uses nano-particles and is super hydrophobic. It literally repels water.
Shit is crazy yo! Supposedly it's going to released as a product next year. Check it out

Makes me want to spray it all over myself and take a dive into the ocean
Supposedly it even keeps the stuff free from bacteria and ice.

I've used stuff like that for camping, but the video looked more effective that what I used. It would def be interesting to see what kind of paint system they come up with.

But does it have nano-particles in it?
Yeah, I've seen things that were water repellant before but nothing like that. I'm curious if it's really that effective or just hype though.

I wonder what kind of impact widespread use of nanotechnology would have on us and the ecosystem, it would easily get into ev-ary-thang.

No shit! This plus some plutonium on mars and we've created a super blockbuster of a future apocalypse...

That was one of my first thoughts, too. Something like that has to be at least somewhat carcinogenic, right? And I'm sure everyone will be spraying it on everything... I know I want to.
I like how they haven't really said what it is, unless I missed it. The article said it's a byproduct of a solution they were working on, does that mean they accidentally created this?
Cause that doesn't sound too promising...

How does discovering something by accident not sound promising? How is it any different than discovering it on purpose?

The glue on Post-It notes: discovered accidentally. Huge success. The history of accidental inventions is huge.
