Just bought tickets for both shows in Rosemont.

Probably won't be as good as the Roger Waters shows from 99 and 2000, but I still am anxious to go.

Sweet. You think they will add more dates to the tour?

I prefer Roger Waters, but I do like Gilmour. I love his self titled solo album and About Face. I've never seen him play live though. I saw Waters a ton of times a few years ago, but this one will be good too I'm betting.

I'm hoping he will play some old Floyd. I'm talking pre Dark Side of The Moon.....like some stuff off of Meddle or Saucerful. Even something off of Atom Heart Mother. I love those cds. I'd definately orgasm is he played Echoes, but there's no chance of that I'm sure haha.

He'll play Fat old sun for sure, but I don't think echoes, he's going pretty acoustically now. He HAVE to play some floyd tho, most probably "a great day for freedom" "high hopes" and "comfortably numb".
He probably will just play his new album and half an hour of floyd tops and call it a day. I think waters is a lot better with the public and understands that we want some floyd more than Gilmour who is a little bit close-minded about it.
Any other probable songs he could play?

I'm sure that it's going to be a heavy dose of his solo material. I think you are right about Waters being more open minded about playing floyd stuff. Gilmour has always seemed to me to be a dick anyways, but he is a hell of a musician. Hell, Waters played a shitload of Floyd when he did his tours.

Jesus, I dont want him to play anything from A Momentary Lapse Of Reason because that is exactly what that album was. God, it was horrible. The Division Bell was pretty good though. I would love it if he played something off of Animals because that is my favorite album, but that's mostly a Waters album. Dogs would definatley make me orgasm also.

I agree with you, the more I read about the two the more I realize Waters is a megalo-maniac but Gilmour is a dick too. They are amazing lyricits-musicians tho, really talented.
Unfortunately Gilmour doesn't really care about the floyd anymore as far as fans are concerned, he is just happy taking care of his boys and giving away his money to charity; He made a difference in the world and I guess he's tired of the same old music
Waters on the other hand takes more pride in his legacy apparently; And he's pretty active, did you know he is recording two new albums for 2006-7 with world tours?
I really appreciate Waters attitude towards the fans. At least he knows and gives us what we want, even if we have to hear some other solo songs
So what Waters gigs did you go to?

I hadnt heard about his albums/tours upcoming. I might have to change my boxers after reading that.
I went to 11 shows on Waters' In The Flesh tours in the U.S. in 1999 and 2000.

Wow, 11 shows? I'd love to see one of his shows, they're pretty spectacular. It's a shame I didn't get that much into his solo work tho I'll make sure and go to several shows in the 2007 tour
EDIT: the urls were to other pages, sorry.

I love his solo material.....I never listened to pink floyd until I went to his shows, that got me into them....Dogs is the song that really stood out to me and it has been my favorite song since. I got really obsessed and went to every show that I could possibly go to.
Unfortunately I cant afford to do that anymore so will only go to two gilmour shows.

Yeah dogs is great but I prefer pigs for the central music with the Em to B progression... fucking genious! The lyrics on dogs are amazing tho, so powerful!
Look like maybe someday we'll meet at some waters gig eh? Oh, and if you love his solo work, apparently one of the new albums is political in nature and the other one (scheduled for 2007 I think) is about relationships... should be a nice treat

Oh, the entire animals album is fucking genious man. I've been listening to Sheep a lot lately.
The Dogs lyrics are truly great. They are very true to life. Gilmours guitar solos in that song are excellent.
Haha, maybe we'll meet up at a futre gig....I'd love to meet someone at a show. I can't decide if I want to be iun a psychedelic state for these Gilmour shows or if I want to stay sober for them.

Yeah, I can't decide either! Guess I'll just enjoy the man anyway, maybe a glass of beer and a nice joint to enjoy it better, while keeping the professional set of mind towards learning his tricks This is going to be a one in a life time experience, I'm sure about it! Oh, but how I envy those who saw the floyd live... this can't be compared to that

Yeah, no shit man. Jesus christ, if I had a little fucking genie that would grant my wishes, I would gladly let him make me 20 years older so that I could have seen them all play together in their prime. Floyd is easily my favorite band. I can't even imagine what a wonderful experience it would have been to have seen them play.
Well, since I am going to 2 shows, maybe I can do one sober and one tripping. I wasn't into psychedelics yet when I saw all of the Waters shows, so I have yet to experience their music live in that state.
