What type of enterpreneur are you?

What is it with all the Shroomerites thinking about business ventures lately? So far today there are plans to build a concert venue, a mushroom farm, and to sell plano contacts online, and those are just the ones I saw today.

Soooo... out with it. What kind of a business are you going to start, and why?

I started a screen printing business. The reason is because I have worked in printing all my life and screen printing is easier than offset, cheaper to start up than offset, and I get to deal with people who are more my kind of people. It's going pretty well but winter is the slow season for printing shirts so I am doing web and graphic design to fill in the gaps.

I would like to start a business selling music I've made to other artists/companies/etc in order to make money. I would like to scores for film, instrumentals for rappers, themes for tv, jingles for commercials, and techno tracks for car commercials. Basicaly I want to do what I love and make money at it, whether or not it would make me a "sellout".

It would also be cool to start an independent film distrubution company and release DVDs of obscure and cheesy horror/sci fi. With all that said, I don't know how to go about it.

Sales and services are in my blood. So is horticolture. Great grandpa was i pionear in orchids, grandpa owned a lilly farm, also was a sales man. My father is a sales man, who owns his own buisness. So thats the way i been brought up. Not saying thats all i am. I also like making funky furniture out of ruff peaces of oak slabs. Rustic heavy and artistic peaces. Im just trying to get it all together right now and make my life the way i always dreamed it to be.

its about meating people. Get a job in a nice resturant be a bartender. Talk to the costomers. Have general buisness cards available. You cant do it yourself you need others to need you.

its true...

also you don't have to love what you do but at least be able to tolerate it.

Its good to have far reaching long term goals...but these often seem unattainable in the beginning so give yourself realistic attainable smaller goals every 3-6 months.

NEVER think you are better that those you employ...

unless you are an accountant, hire one

I don't know but if I ever went into business field I'd want to do International business major. And I can see what products would be in demand in a specific country compared to others. For example Hooters in countries like India, China, etc. Plus, I get to travel.

Small goals that work towards your long term goal is the way! Every time you get one small one youu get that much closer to the end goal. Thats why i plan to rent a barn and use it to my advantage for the next year or two. Supporting myself off all the money i invested into space and equipment. Gaining a self made income ontop of credit. Sooner or later being able to expand the operation from modest to financialy secure one.

I dont know what kind but i will have my own buisness someday.I just need to find a niche market/invention damn it!!!

im a business man, i have been taking business classes well since the winter of 02 after graguating a year and a half early from H.s. through correspondance courses.

today is my last businesse class for the semester and i think that im ready to go out into the real world and start off.

The concert venue is a combination of ideas that i have been working on for years now. and is a culmination of many of my dreams and aspirations in life since i was much younger.

Business is in my blood. my family has a business that is run very well and has been for 3 generations. thing is im afraid to follow in those footsteps beacuse i see how my father has regretted it in his life and the problems it has caused him.

Didnt Superfly become a multi millions company in less than a year crazy they had Jazz fest before that but the first Bonnaroo must have made them 5 times more in a couple of months than all Jazz Fests put togther.And they spent $0 dollars on advertising for the first Bonnaroo.Wish i had a vision like that :bow:
