Dung Brother kits, Temporarily taking a break

The Dung Brothers premium mushroom compost kits are temporarily on hold for the next month. DB is going back to the drawing board to work out a few problems with the grain to avoid any further mishaps to make these kits even better. This will also give him time to get caught up on the back orders. If you have been waiting on an order, not to worry they are being shipped now that new grain has been made. With the holidays upon us the mail system is backed up so please be patient. He literally has a months worth of orders to catch up on due to a really bad batch of grain that caused a lot of problems with kits. So with grain replacements and making new grain and testing it to be sure its 100% effective, it will take a little time and work to get these back orders caught up. Thanks for understanding and your patience.
Please do not send any new orders until further notice.
All orders already post dated up to December 20th will be honored.
Any orders post dated after that will be returned.
The Dung Brothers premium mushroom compost kits will be back once a few adjustments have been made.
You can still access the Dung Brothers Kits page for instructions on your kits. Thanks for understanding as we progress to offer you one of the best mushroom growing kits available.

Is there still a 3 week or more delay for spore orders? Is this a real bad time for syringe orders too?

No delays on spore orders.
I've been shipping orders out very fast the past month and will continue to do that. Nobody should be waiting more then 3-10 days on spore orders.
As I promised a month ago, orders are being shipped out much faster now.
I've also been getting a lot of returned orders lately. Some ppl have claimed their lost orders and it turned out they used a fake name. Please, just use your initials if your remotely worried about ordering spores. The postman will send the order back if he does not recognize the name most of the time. TY

Man I just cant relate to that. I live in an apartment complex, and the postman has not a clue as to the names of who lives where.

I was wanting to ask you what the difference is between the DB's kit and Homestead's EZ-Grow kit? I looked them both over very closely and I couldn't find a difference between them. I noticed that DB and Homestead both advertise the very same pictures for the kits they sale and I figured them to be the same kit but under different names. Is this correct?
I was planning on buying one of your DB kits or one of the EZ Grow kits so I guess you just made my mind up for me here but I am still curious to know what the difference between the two kits is and if they are different then what is it that makes them different? Besides the fact that theirs is cheaper of course.
The link to the EZ-Grow kit.

I was also wanting to know if you two share the same guarantee for the kit? Thank you.

hi- i dont think theyre the same pics (not related companies). i could be wrong but am pretty sure theyre not the same... and the db kit berries dont work like homesteads- db you poke a syringe thru the bag and innoc., while homestead's kit apparently has a swab already inside the filter patchbag to innoc. with. (what im saying is, not the same kit)
id not depend on guarantees from homestead- did you notice they dont say hat they guarantee? ::grin:: homestead questions should prolly be directed to their site as they dont post here and wont answer questions in a forum like this. (ps, many people started on their agar kit and didnt do so well on it- not saying the products are one in the same, just that there have been troubles with their previous kits. but they were also agar... so who knows. good luck-)
pps - i believe db is not selling kits now (temporarily?)- see related thread in this forum, bumped recently.

Thank you for that information. I was actually wanting to inquire about the DB kit which is why I posted here for The Hawks Eye response. I was hoping that he could tell me what the difference was with the DB kit and the EZ Grow kit. I studied up enough to figure out the difference between the inoculation method each uses but what I'm curious about is if they are the same compost substrate being sold under a different name? I imagine that only The Hawks Eye would know the answer to this question so I will wait for his rexponse.
You may look a little closer at the pictures used on both the Hawk's Eye and the Homestead EZ-Grow page because they are the same ones. I am pretty sure of it. I recognized the giant Indian mushrooms right away from the Hawks Eye. Hard not to miss them they are so huge. And Hometead does offer a Guarantee for the kit. They advertise it with a guarantee and I inquired about it and they confirmed this for me.
Thank you.

There's obviously no difference, the "kits" come from washington right??? Homestead is in Washington. This same compost used to sell for $2/lb in "kit" form from mycotech(now known as DB) Rich from Mycotech(I mean DB) is friends with alot of the "old school" shroomers, Homestead has been around longer than any other spore vendor.
