20 cents cheaper, sounds like a steal in my book.

Jambands are so mid-90's.
how old were you in the mid nineties? you were probably listening to bush or boyz II men or something.
but yeah, i use to love jam bands and that whole scene, i was even in a jam band, but i find myself not having much of any interest in any of it anymore. It seems false to me and alot of it seems to be meaningless and without soul. it's just a reason to take drugs and dance. it doesnt strike me as artistic anymore. Also, the people in the scene tend to be hypocrites. Theres some great people in there but theres to many wankers and hypocrites in there as well. Sometimes it seems like the whole scene goes against the who "hippie" mindset.

I agree with your post but still don't understand what my age has to do with anything. I wasn't allowed to listen to anything but classical music untill I was 18.

yeah, as far as what i saw at 10,000 lakes, i would strongly agree the scene sucks - its just an excuse to take drugs. I felt no unity to any of the dope fiends or tripped out kids there, most wouldnt even give me a ride when i was hitch hiking up the hill, and vendors were atrociously priced while vegetarian food was few and far between.

I really doubt I'll ever attend another festival in my life. I'd rather take my pack and hike a week on the same money I'd blow on the ticket alone for a 3 day festival.

I saw them at Vegoose and was quite impressed. I'm not too keen on the vocals, but I love their long, drawn-out jams.

i saw panic at bonaroo 05. what i saw was pretty good but it wasn't anything really special. Now a little while ago i saw two nights of String cheese in atlanta. Cheese was amazing! the first night was my #1 all time best concert, and i've seen some good shows. Who likes Cheese?

I've loved Panic since I first saw them in 92 and like them more with every show. Never saw a bad show. Probably 9 of the best ten shows I saw this year were WSP. The scene is getting too big now though. But I love what George has brought to the band.

Widespread Panic is at the top for me.
I saw my first show when i was 14, before mickey died, been to too many to count since. Like any band with a following as large as theirs there are going to be your garden variety jackasses running aroung the lot.
I've met some of my best friends at widespread shows, the kind of people that sell ten strips for 50 bucks to anyone who wants em, but drugs arent what make the band, the music takes care of that.
by the way, Widespread was tearin it up when trey was still poppin zits on his goofy red devil ass.
