Pretty cool, mang. Are you using a double pedal? I noticed a lot of triplets (bass bass snare). Try working on some slower continuous double bass patterns and syncopate some tom work in there. Organize it into a fluent entity, ya know? You've got the skill, now go for control and listening.

i am using a double pedal. there were definatly lots of triplets.
as for the rest. it was just a 2min clip.
i have been working alot lately on playing different polyrythms over 16th and 16th note triplets on my kick.
i want to start playing all the rudiments that i do in my hands on my feet now
paradidles and 5s and 7s and wat not.
and if u didnt listen to it all, theres alot of 32nd or 64th(?) notes in the end, i was spliting them 2 in my feet R-L and 2 in my hands R-L(or L-R). and moving around the toms//snare that way.

i will put up some more clips after thursday i think. gonna record a lil more.

thx all.

Sounding pretty good man.. I have only been playing a little while and just picked up a double bass pedal a coulpe months ago..I can work it alright, lately I've been working on getting used to just keeping the hammers moving steadily with 16th notes but much less with triplets.. awesome stuff, listening to your playing has just inspired me to get back to work and practice some more. lol..

Just out of curiosity, did you ever take lessons at all or are you more or less self taught?

So you're recording that on one mic?

Do you have a .wav file still saved? Can you in the future record in a room without as much reverb and possibly with more then one mic?

Cool stuff thanks.

im recording with 1 mic. its a 30 dollar radioshack mic.
its hanging about shoulder level a few feet in front of my drums.
the room is pretty small and has carpet padding all around the walls/floor.
all i need is a set of like 3 mics. a left, right, and 1 solely for the kick drum.

i was planning on doin another, better recording last thursday, but.. my trip didnt go as planned.
sometime soon i'll get more up here. some stuff with my band also.

i dont have any pics of my kit.
its a mediocre 5 peice pearl kit, that i turned into a 6 piece by adding my old floor tom from a previous kit. misc. zildjian cymbals. nothing special, yet. i'll get some pics sometime maybe.

i uploaded 3 tracks to www.myspace.com/PsychoticSymphony
psychotic symphony is the band ive been playing in for a couple months now.
basic info is on the myspace site.
i hope the other members arent pissed im posting somewat unfinished material :P

it may take till tommarow for all the tracks i uploaded to appear(according to myspace, processing time.)

AND i apologize for not knowing the names of my own songs :P
one of the tracks, the first i think, is new and has no name. and the other 2 i just dont know..... more info later.

enjoy.
