First try growing- (Mazatec)
    #483748 - 12/08/01 01:54 AM (22 years, 9 months ago)

First time, Recieved 2 mazatec syringes from fanaticus.
Sterilized in a pot that can hold 7 jars, had a kitchen with 3 HEPA filters, cleaned whole kitchen with bleach water, and clorox disinfectant pads, nuked the area with lysol.

Very successful - Mazatec Spores (good?)(from pf)

Innoculated the 7 kerr brf/verm jars all the same day, and used the rest of the spores in a 1 pint mayonaise jar with the honey water mix (All 1 syringe). I had waited 3 days and saw nothing, but to my ecstatic discovery after getting off work at 1:30 am I saw mycelium growing in every single of the the seven jars, made one mistake on one of the jar because I forgot to innoculate one sides, I don't know if that will really mess it up, but any suggestions would be gladly heard. However so far all the jars are almost 1/4 colonized by a bright rhizomorphic looking myco on the 7-8th day, normal for mazatec to be like that?

The honey water jar(1 pt) has exploded into a big jar full of white fuzzy stuff floating around, after the 3rd day I figured it would be good for experimentation by taking the rest of my brf and verm and put it into a big cooking bag (About 4-5 cups of verm, 3 cups of BRF), wet it, and sterilized it. I proceeded to inject 10cc of honey water, I made sure I got a big white goober out of the jar, do You have to get the white stuff out of the jar? or will just the water suffice? Time will tell I guess.

I figured that using the bag of innoculated honey water substrate, if it works, (doubtful) I would put it in a very large 50/50 + casing, any ideas if this would work?

But so far I am very pleased with the 7 jars, I am saving my other spore syringe just incase my house burns down or something, I will have a backup. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Ya jars seem to be going beautifully.

As for the bag innoculated with honey water, be on the lookout for contams, as honey water hides contam's very easily. Oh, and yes, those white globs are white mycelium goodness! You do need the white stuff from the jar in order to innoculate properly, Honey water innoculation has always been a gambling situation with me, even being as sterile as possible. Otherwise, good luck.

Is it possible to take some of the honey water, and put it into a fresh 1 pint jar and make more honey water from the initial solution you made before? Almost like cloning honey water from other honey water jars? Am I an idiot? I'm Trying to not use my last syringe.

water mediums are shocking for not showing dormany contams - always hit them with 4-5 mills of h202 per 250ml before innoculation - mazas are very rhizomorphic
