Nice pics, thanks for sharing.
That orange one in pic. 6, do you know if it has a centrally located stem, or is it a shelf (growing right from the wood)?

Thanks for the input guys.

LouiseLouise....that one in pic six does have a steam, not a shelf. The stem was very short, but there was a stem. It is a type of polypore. I thought I might have stubled on a little chicken mushroom (sulfur shelf) but it's not.

Here is a pic of what it looks like from the back...there is a little section of the stem left, I left most of the stem in the wood when I cut it. The stem is more toward the back, not centrally located. Sorry about the pic quality...only had 58K left for my upload limit...had to lose some quality.

I found a really big patch of honey mushrooms too, but those looked a bit old and dry so I left them.

Nice pictures. Keep them coming.

The first two are interesting. They look like the same kind in different stages of growth.
I haven't seen them before.

The polypore in picture number six is probably
in the genus Polyporous. Most of the mushrooms that were in this genus
have been moved to other ones. The mushrooms left in Polyporous all have
black stems, like dryad's saddle, Polyporous squamosa and Polyporous badius.

Nice cluster of Turkey Tails. A whole bunch of concentric clusters stuck together.

The Lepiota looks like L. americana. They grow on stumps and burried wood,
it's pretty unusual to find them there though. I mostly find them on wood chips. If it is L. americana the stem on young ones should stain yellow and
then red. Another feature that seperates  Reddenning lepiota from other large Lepiotas is that it is wider in the middle than the ends.

Thanx for all the info...

Yes, they are the same, the first pic was the full grown mushroom growing about 2 feet from the 2nd pic.  That was the first time i've seen those too.  There were a LOT of them though all over the forest.  The cap of them were almost totally pinkish/red in color.  I could not find any mushrooms that resembled it in Audubon's filed guide.

"The Lepiota looks like L. americana. They grow on stumps and burried wood,it's pretty unusual to find them there though"

yes, I found one really big one growing on a stump of a tree that was cut down, the other two that are in the pics above were found in wood chips next to the tree stump.  That same tree stump is where the turkey tails were growing on top of.  The bottoms of those were really thick compared to the rest of the stems.  It had a ring on the stem that was also a redish color.  The stems of those bruised really red, almost a maroon color at the base.

yeah, usually, when I find turkey tails they are old and crappy...those were really fresh and really colorful....I could be wrong, but I believe I heard them doing experiments with turkey tails to help cure cancer. I'm not 100% on that, but i remember reading something about that somewhere.

EDIT: yeah, it was turkey tails...check it out.

Hey srgtm1a,

Went hunting today with friends and one found this:

I said I just saw a picture of this mushroom. This has dried out some it had
the fuzzy white mycellium as your did when first picked. I'm pretty sure
it is Clitocybe gibba.

could very well be the same, they do look rather similar. I keep finding those all over the forest....they have a very pinkish fading to white cap. You color may have faded a bit due to drying.

Next time I find a nice sized one...I think i'm going to pull it and take some prints etc and see If i can get a proper ID on them.
