 Is the Gathering Forum risky?

I was wondering if any of you security people think the gathering forum on this site puts shroomery members at risk. I wouldn't just meet someone I didn't know and do illegal things with them. There must be some element of trust I am unaware of? I just don't want to see anyone get roped is all. Let me know what you guys think about this issue. Thanks for your time.

IF WE ALL MET,IT WOULD MOST LIKELY HAVE ILLEGAL THINGS. EVIL WOULD BE THERE AS WELL. IF PEOPLE MET IN SMALL GATHERINGS IN LOCATIONS ACCORDING TO WHO LIVES IN YOUR AREA,AND GOT TO KNOW ONE ANOTHER, WE COULD FIND OUT WHO IS / ISN'T A RIGHTIOUS SPIRIT. I see what you mean but how do you know who to trust even on the local level? I will admit i only read a few posts on there but the ones I did read talked about bringing pot and picking shrooms on the first get to gether. Sounds good but im just interested to see peoples feedback and to see if anyone has ever been busted at any of these get togethers. Call me paranoin if you wan't.

of course its RISKY,how great is the risk of having it?who knows,not i said the fly.
i mean posting where you want to meet people on a drug realated message board isnt exactly the safest thing to do.especially since you know that there is going to be drugs at the gathereings.

Dispatch this is officer gary.. we have some kids meeting off the shroomery, they may possibly have small amounts of marijuana and(gasp) be picking wild mushrooms- did you say picking mushrooms?- affimative- i will get the swat team on it pronto

I wouldnt laugh at this subject. Sure, I cant see the cops or the dea careing about the average 'shroomer. (obviosly they dont) But I can see them takeing there time out to round up (as the red necks say) "an whole entire heard of 'em" at once. Also, I dont doubt that the dea is watching the vendors for mistakes.... at least mistakes that might jepordise "the kiddies" (ex: research chemicals sites). If the media ever started harping about negative effects of 'shrooms on the kiddies it's gonna get rough. Fortunatly that has never really happened.

I was the one who organized last summers CAPS gathering and I admit I was a little paranoid but being in Canada, where the cops have better things to do, I wasn't too worried. I thought that if this site was monitored by the local cops they definately would have shown up as all the dates and site info were posted here but they didn't and a great time was had by all. As far as trusting people, you just have to spend some time here to get a good feel of who to trust and who not to trust. Anyone who actually commits the time and money to go to one of these things is probably someone genuinely interested in meeting others with similar interests and doesn't have any alterier motives.

Scratcher is right. The kind of people who are interested in meeting other Shroomerites are the kind of people who spend enough time here to have gotten to know some people on a more personal level. I've been to a couple of Shroomerite gatherings and there have been nothing but absoloutly awesome people and great times.
It's really a judgement call. If you don't feel comfortable going to these kinds of things, then you probaly shouldn't go because you wouldn't have a good time.
