Anybody play Guild Wars?

If so, maybe we should get together and make a shroomery guild :laugh: get some GvG going, 4 on 4, etc.

(Guild Wars is an online game that has no monthly fee. Similar to Diablo 2)

It's cool because you don't have to dedicate your life to this game. The maximum level is 20. To get there only requires maybe two weeks of casual playing.

Action is instant, money is very easy to acquire, community is big and active. Killing monsters over and over can get boring, but it's the player versus player that kicks ass.

You don't even need a high end computer to play it.

I was thinking about getting it, but only 20 levels....that blows. It would have to have an amazing story and quests.

Haven't tried it yet, mostly because so many World of Warcraft people went over to try it when it came out and the vast majority came back.

Guess the game to many just doesn't compare, but I still have a few friends who prefer it over World of Warcraft, just not that many :wink:

Yeah it does have an RPG side to it. Like, you start a character. You talk to the local guard in town. He tells you there is a monster terrorizing the local farmlands. If you accept the mission, you'll be rewarded two items and 500 experience points.

So you accept the mission. Then you gotta get a group of players together. Once together, you enter the mission. Fight monsters, throw spells, drink beer. Then you arrive at the monster. Kill him, return to the guard for a reward.

It's very basic and bland RPG. That's not the focus of the game though :laugh: it's PvP... the ultimate form of gaming.
