Armillaria mellea???
    #4678320 - 09/18/05 05:00 PM (18 years, 5 months ago)

I found these today. I think they're ringed honey mushroom but i'm not entirely sure
They were fruiting on a log that was just loaded with them, maybe 300 specimens or more. I've never seen so many mushrooms in one place
the spore print is white
caps are about 2 to 3cm
stipe 3 to 4cm and solid not hollow
an obvious ring zone

This it? I hope so i picked about 2 pounds haha
I've read it causes stomach upset in some people so i hope i'm not one of those people. I'd hate to waste them

They look like honey mushrooms to me.. Armillaria mellea is actually somewhat of a species complex. The appearance can vary greatly.
In your pic I don't really see veil remnants on the stem.. typical ringed honey mushrooms will have blatant large rings on the stems.
I do believe that I found that exact variety of honey mushroom earlier today. I don't have the pics uploaded to my computer yet but here are some pics from the past years.

And the ringless...
