I just mean armellariella mellea complex. There are a bunch of diff. mush that are armellaria mellea. The exact ones I eat are probably Armellaria Gallica

Jarmo said: I was already leaning towards trying them. I posted them on mushroomobserver.org & nobody said they weren't, after I guessed that they were a. Mellea. On that site, if you guess right, nobody responds. I've been seeing them all over town here & have been researching them for the last week. I was already 99% sure, you just confirmed for me..

BUT....just because no one said differently on MO doesn't mean your guess is correct...Sometimes I have things wrong there and it takes weeks, months, etc. for the right person to come along and correct me. I'm not arguing your ID, just a caution to you to be careful was all.
I posted a picture of some gymnopilus on OM and called them Gymnopilus oregonensis which is a species that hasn't been found since 1911, I seriously doubt that's what they are but no one corrected me. That site kinda sucks for promptness some times.
Hey hey, I just had an ID from 2010 corrected from MO. It was so long ago, I didn't even recognize that it was my original post until I looked it over carefully.

It might be better to stick to this site instead.

I agree that it is a very good site but not if you are looking for a prompt answer to an ID request.

Agree.
I really like them too, but it depends on the collection and species. I feel the type of wood affects the flavor some. I made Honey Mushroom French fries last night and they were very much like sweet potato french fries in almost every way.
