Are iPods crap?

I'm trying to decide what to get as an MP3 player. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to get an iPod because of their poor battery life and seemingly limited features.

Now I'm debating between a Creative Zen Touch and a Sony Network Walkman  (NW-HD5).

Any thoughts?

i was about to pay for an iriver a few days ago but my credit wouldn't have it!

i think that's the best choice though (unless you don't care about the space and would do with a 5-10 gigs player... in that case i dunno)

i think it's the best option available... (though they've stopped making the big ones but as far as i know they're still available)

the new ipod nano is soo sweet, this kid was flashy it around school friday.. looked like a fuckin credit card or something.. holds 1000 songs.. its awesome!!

the only thing i have been told about ipods is that the battery life sucks.. so just make sure to get a nice warranty on it so they will replace it for you!

I got a 40 gig ipod not to long ago. Holds 10000 songs and I love it.

Archos Jukebox Multimedia (from 20-80gb) or Archos and then get a new, larger hard drive for it, if desired. I had one 3 years ago and it was stolen from me. I bought another one back in Feb. and I use it strictly for the home, but it is wonderful. Archos also has many other types of mp3 players and i don know what new stuff they have out, but a very cool product.

Know what the battery life is though?

When I go camping and hiking for a few days, I like to have music with me, and I clearly wouldn't be able to recharge the battery in the wilderness.

I have no idea. I bring mine with me to class during the day, and it lasts for almost the entire week. I have no idea how much that translates into by hour, though.

im not talkin about like how long it will last before it runs out.. im talkin about i heard that the battery actually GOES BAD.. like becomes un-useable.. ive never owned one.. but thats just what i have heard from 2 friends... both had that problem
