City police have charged three men in what they describe as one of the largest ecstasy busts in Edmonton.
A joint operation by police from Edmonton and Vancouver resulted in the seizure of 9,700 ecstasy pills, with an estimated street value of $194,000, from an Edmonton home earlier this month.
Police said drug detectives and members of the tactical squad entered a home on Terwilligar Vista Sept. 13 and seized two containers of ecstasy tablets.
Three men in their 20s and 30s were in the house at the time. They have each been charged with two counts of possessing a controlled substance. Their names are being withheld while the investigation continues. Court dates have not been set.
Police say ecstacy, a stimulant and hallucinogenic, is usually manufactured on the West Coast or Quebec but they wouldn't say where the drug involved in this seizure came from.
