Help with my Rubbermaid container

My cat is planning on growing shrooms for her first time, and wants to know if anyone has any ideas on how to seal off her 18gal rubbermaid container, so as not to let contaminents and moisture leak in/out. Kitty tried using silicone caulk from the hardware section of Target, put a bead of it all around the lip of the container, but the shit just fell off, even though the packaging said it had high adhesion to plastic (makes sense, its called caulk). Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated! She has been a spectator of the forums for months now and found if to be the greatest resource on the net. Thanx for reading!

It's been my experience that the supplied lid is tight enough.

Thank you for the suggestions. I will look into the glue and weather stripping, and probably will use whichever is cheaper. I would just leave it the way it is as suggested, but I don't want to take any chaces on my first try. The hell with the 'my cat' business. Thank you all for your help.
