Well this is pretty much a nonsense post, but wat the hell. I am finding out tomorrow if an invention idea I came up with is actually as promising as I believe it to be so I'm extremely stoked and pretty much burned the ears off all my boys talking about it and I can tell they just want me to shut up, lol :smile:, so I'll tell you guys. Any lifeguards out there will appreciate this invention. They have devices today called automatic chlorinators and they do in fact supply chlorine automatically, however they just pump out chlorine at whatever setting you set it to. My idea is a chlorinator that actually tests the water for you and then adjusts the flow accordingly to monitor chlorine levels 24 hours a day. I obviously can't post the means to an end of accomplishing this, however I assure you it is a sound ass method and it will work. Anyone who knows and or cares what do you guys think. yay or nay on it being a good idea that might bring me some decent cash. I tend to believe it is a pretty industry revolutionizing idea as far as pool maintence equipment goes. I think the patent should fetch a pretty penny. Any thoughts?

By "finding out tomorrow" do you mean you hired a patent lawyer? If so, about how much did it cost?

Well I am going through a third party patent and marketing services company. They do research in the field pertaining to your idea and get back to you on such things as if it's practicle and blah blah. The preliminary evaluation went well and they liked the idea. So it's been like a week and they have been doing research in the field, I guess finding out wether the patent will be infringing on any existing ideas, and I got a message today saying they'll call back tomorrow mornign. So i'm hoping for good news.

So far it hasn't cost me a thing, I assume they will want somethign from me if it's good news tomorrow and they start making/testing the theories pertaining to me idea. Im hoping they just get a percentage at the end, but somehow I don't see it going down like that.

Well however it works out, I wish you luck with your invention. A friend and I are in the process of designing/testing an idea of our own and hopefully soon will look into a patent lawyer.

Very nice, thanks, and gl to you guys as well. My buddy is the co-inventor as well. We are hoping this idea booms and we cut a nice check with royalties included with a major corporation. We named it "The Lucy Boomer," lol. I cant wait to sit down in a suit and sell an idea called the lucy boomer. We'll probably have to change that but its funny for now. First plan if it works out is to get a house out in the woods and be roomates.

Heh, that's my fantasy as well. I hope this thing takes off and we can just sell the idea to some company, collect royalties on every unit sold and retire by the time I reach 25 :smile:
