Page archiving?
    #4607111 - 09/01/05 06:05 AM (12 years, 1 month ago)

Is there a way to take an archive of a webpage so that all of its pages and info and everything can be saved in a folder and the page viewed like it was on the internet? Kind of like the shroomery's, but is there a way to manually do it?

Yup. A search for "offline browser" or something would probably do you good. I use HTTrack and find it does a fine job and is pretty customizeable in what exactly you want it to download.

Just be nice about it. Remember that sites have limited bandwidth and using such tools excessively can slow down the site for others while you're downloading and/or increase the costs to the site owner. Some sites (erowid and wikipedia come to mind) will have seperate archives of themselves (often torrented or .zipped and hosted elsewhere) for just that reason.
