Has Anyone Ever Done This?

1. You get pulled over for some reason.
2. You do not have insurance, so you get a ticket for this.
3. You make a fake insurance card.
4. You show this to the court to prove you had insurance at the time.
5. You get away scott-free.

My friend has done this before and it worked perfectly so I am considering it too. Otherwise I face some pretty hefty fines. I have made a pretty good fake to where you really can't tell the difference from a real one, but I'm still kinda scared to try this. I really don't think the clerks try to make sure the card is legit, but just to make sure the insurance is current. I copied a previous card I had, which itself looked pretty fake to begin with.

Anyways, has anyone ever done this and/or what do you think about it? Too risky?

I've been pulled over without insurance.. and I told the cop I had no idea my insurance lapsed and my license was suspended (blatant lie)

He pulled out a sheet that said I had no prior knowledge, but now I did, and made me sign it. Sent me home and said if I got caught driving it'd be jail.

So yeah.. that only works once........

It has actually happened to me before but I got it off my record for following some program they had. Deferred adjudication or something. I had to have insurance for 6 months continuously, which was pretty easy. So they wiped it off my record. If it gets on your record twice they suspend your license.

Yeah I think the price for failure would be me going to jail, probably the same day. The thing is, there is no way for them to know if I really have insurance or not just from the insurance card. If there is no phone number to call (which I doubt they do anyways) on the card, what can they do? Nothing. I don't think the clerks really care and would rather help someone out than make them pay a ridiculous fine.

i solve this struggle by not owning a car, life is blissful.
insurance fraud isnt really worth it, but it all really depends on how much the clerk looking at it cares....

I know, I know. I am currently seriously considering just selling my car on craigslist, which I hope will sell pretty quick. Then I can finish paying off this bike I have on layaway, and use the bus when I have to. It will get me in pretty good shape, save me money, but I know I will miss the car. I'm sure I would get used to it though.....

i got nailed for 130 bucks recently doin 81 in a 65... durr it was early morning i was stoned and late for work just jammen to my tunes not payen attention.

The dude didnt even ask me for insurance. Just gave me a bs ticket for 130 dollars i cant afford to spend on the man. What a bitch, but eh

I got pulled over for an expired registration, which the cop figured out by running my plates once he got right behind me at a stoplight. It was something I never took into consideration. Now whenever there is a cop anywhere behind me, I turn down the first side street and let him pass. It's been really stressful to drive lately.

Yeah, well my car has no AC and I live in Texas, plus there are some things wrong with it plus gas is getting way too high plus all this crap I have to deal with now = I wouldn't mind getting rid of it, I think?

i beginning to develop a sort of pride in not driving, i sold my car about a year ago, im in better shape cause i walk (it helps that i live 3 blocks from work of course)

Yeah that's the thing. I live kinda far from work and the grocery store so I would rely on the bus and the bike. It doesn't help that I live in a semi-getto either....

i live 2 blocks from a grocery store, 3 blocks from work, half a block from a gas station, i have three head shops within like 6 blocks, decent food, etc....i guess im lucky location wise

I know, I could do all that actually. It's a little more complicated though. I got my car over a year ago, but never registered it. Which means I have to go do that first, with my fake insurance, then get the car inspected, with the fake insurance, then finally try to fool the court clerk with the fake insurance. What it really comes down to is how I can save the most money.......sometimes I just want to move out of this town.....

You couldn't register it with fake insurance.. they check the numbers.

You can fool a clerk.. but not a computer.
