The Aviator
    #4522893 - 08/11/05 04:05 PM (18 years, 7 months ago)

I for one hate Leonardo Dicapro and thought this movie would be complete dogshit - Low and behold I borrowed it today, I figured I could atleast give it a go..

Movie actually ened up kicking ass - Nicely directed, great actors, and the perfect basis of any movie - The Life of Howard Hughes.

Anyone else watch this yet?

Yes. Great movie!

The fact that it is based on a true story makes it even better.

i liked it.

what is it about leonardo dicaprio that everyone seems to hate? is it because of titanic? I think he's a pretty good actor, just look at his movies: catch me if you can, gangs of new york, basket ball diaries, aviator..etc etc.

I just knew he was the richest guy on the planet at one time or another...

The whole atmosphere of the movie was really great in my oppinion - felt like the 50's to me

Story was key - Focused on the major parts of the Hughes story, for that particular time period in his life...

Howard Hughes is the producer of the first Scarface. It sure was an interesting man.

I usually like Dicaprio movies, he really likes to do period flicks.  I hated the Aviator...it was really boring.

I think Catch Me If You Can was the best.  Titanic was also really good, but I just can't stand all the teen heart throb shit that came with it.

Another good actor with an unfortunate teen heart throb biography is Orlando Bloom.  Not that they don't deserve recognition, but the guy does movies like LOTR and Troy and should be getting a completely different kind of recognition.  It's almost bad publicity.  They've got real skill and talent and all anyone cares about is thier pretty face.
