I just ordered 10 spawn bags from FP, and was wondering what the technique to using these were. Can I just add all my substrate to them, PC, and spray in a spore syringe?

Well, I want to try that too. What I was told is simple inject the spores and tape the hole up. Are you going to grow them straight out of the bags?? What kind of substrate are you going to use also? Keep us posted because I've heard little on the spawn bags subject.

I plan on letting the bags fully conlonize and then casing them. I am not sure what substrate I am going to use yet. I have used BRF in all my jars in the past, but i am thinking of using birdseed (or maybe some of the zoodoo i just ordered) this time. I will keep you posted on the success.

how will you seal the spawn bag and sterilize? I was just about to post the same question, then i read your post hehe. I'm worried about the moisture of the substrate while PCing

That is a problem of mine. I am not sure how i am going to seal the bag, because i am not about to pay a fortune for one of those sealers. If anyone has suggestions on how to seal spawn bags it would be appriciated.

Eurosealers work fairly well for sealing the FP bags but sometimes leave little air holes, but if you know how to use it, its alright.

Zip strips--- the little ties you can buy they are used for tieing cable up you put on end in the other and pull put 2-3 of these one there and pull very tight. We used them before we got an impulse sealer and we would ship them with orders and we had no complaints.

when using spawn bags...do pour water and grain in to the bag as you would for a qt. jar? or do you have to already have the right water ratio before you pc??? also, how would you go about a bag to bag transfer? obviously, i haven't been able to find a tek either.
