I got really bored last night, so I spent a little time making up this tutorial. If you want to change your start button in Windows XP, Windows 2000, or Windows 2003, just follow along, it's really easy.

very cool tutorial I used the home icon for the noia theme found in linux & firefox.
the only modification that might be necessary is adding a part about saving explorerx.exe after finishing with reshack. other than that, great instructions there.

Cool, took me a couple of tries but it worked. After that I got the hacking bug and decided to change my Windows XP boot screen. That was the worst idea I've had in awhile. I made it look like a Macintosh booting up, then it went to the blue screen of death and restarted. I couldn't get back into windows at all, so I reformatted and am back in biz. My problem might have been doing the hack manually without any program, oh well, live and learn. Have fun hacking shroomites ---------------------------------------------------------------------
I had to try it again, but this time I downloaded stylexp. It worked out this time. I love my new boot screen.

Yeah I know, it's very old really, but a lot of people still don't know about it.
pshawny, I know how to do that one too. It's a little more difficult than the start button one, maybe I should do a tutorial for it as well?

Yeah, I know. Part of the reason I did the other one though was that all the tutorials for changing your start button kind of suck, it is pretty much the same way with the bootscreen tutorials.
Hell I don't even use a bootscreen anyway; I've always booted up Windows in verbose mode....
