Cutting the budget from Sesame Street?

i'm sure there are some fans of NPR/PBS out there... i for one tune in to the webstream from my (old) local npr station from time to time, just to hear what they're babbling on about :smile: anyway, congress wants to massively cut their funding... no good, in my mind.

I once had a professor who loathed sesame street and blamed the show for dumbing down of America. He noted that the show taught kids that learning always had to be fun - sometimes you just have to crack open a tough book and get into it. He blamed the show for shortened attention spans.

hehe, ok i see his argument.

but i think advertising free television is a hell of a lot better for kids than some consumer-driven crap on fox!

perhaps it is. I say turn that tv off and throw the kids a ball and tell them to go outside & dont come back until it's dark out. I really dislike television.
