Check out these pics, and give me some advice plea

First of all, is my cake supposed to be this furry? also, i've had about 5 cakes in the terranium for a few weeks, and only one has a few pins growing. anything i'm doing wrong? my humidity is at around 75, what is optimal? also, what's with the white streak?

I have never seen a white streak like thatbefore. Your picture is a little blurry, but it looks lto me like mycelium, given that it is so white. Were those pics taken with a web cam? Sniff the jar to see if it smells sour, or anything other than grainy, if so you've probably got a contam.

The first pic looks good. Those furry bumps will eventually result in pinheads.

The other pic in the jar is too blurry to tell. I can't tell how well the rest of it is colonized. I've never encountered a solid white streak when fully colonized, but recently, some spores germinated quite aggressively and I had nice streaking.

Best rule: When in doubt, throw it out.

Mycelium does that when it contacts yeast - dont mean to sound negative, but if it refuses to grow over that line, then its contaminated...sorry...

You should probably try to get more humidity in your terrarium. 75 wont get you too far, even if you do get pins. try to keep the humidity around 90 at least. 90-95 is optimal.

first pic looks good, but you need to increase humidity, for cakes you need for optimal growth +95% and 74? temp....
the second pic looks like the left cale isn't completely colonized, and the third pic look like yeasts or bacteria contam....toss it
