Hey Pubbers,
Someone mentioned that Soulseek is a good p2p program with some sort of shroomery sharing room or something to that effect. Does anyone know if it has any spyware attached that i should know about before I download it? I really want to keep my computer as clean as possible. Thanks

I don't believe it does. I know it didnt when I downloaded it a couple of years ago.

I didnt know there was a shroomery room on there. I'll have to check it out.

Awesome. Download.com seems to agree that it's a very clean program with no viruses or spyware.

Also, I think it's more of a shroomery chat room, but I'm not sure.

Yes, just click "Create new room" and type "Shroomery"

You will be taken to The Shroomery Chatroom... there are always people inside.

soulseek has no native spyware if you get the client from the official slsk website - the only crap you'll get is if you download it yourself. there are few, if any, viri/trojans (I have never heard of any in the 3 years I've used slsk).

just visit http://www.slsknet.org and get the latest builds directly.
download.com seems to only have 152 available which is totally outdated and sucks. In fact, that client is now banned from the network. 156 is the latest stable build and 157 test 4 is the test client.

visit the faq and forums if you need help.

Emule blows. Never connects, even when the port is open. I've only ever got 2 songs from it, both taking a very long time. Of course that's just me, i'm sure people have gotten many an hour of stuff of it.

works fine for everyone I know. is your client properly configured? never used it for music though - thats what slsk is for.
