peyote overseas

First off if this is against a rule im unaware of please delete this post.
I was wondering, hypothetically, about how one might go about getting a live loph into the U.S. from the UK. If I knew someone from the UK, i was thinking the loph could be sent to them, and then they could send it to me as discreetly as possible. Which brings up my main question, hypothetically if all that were true, what would be some good tips on packaging so that this loph might make it through customs without any problems. I do understand theres always risk of it being taken, but what would some ideas be to make this less likely?
Thanks! day tripper

There is risk of it being seized and there is the risk of the DEA showing up at your door with a search warrant. Unless your place is 100% clean, be very careful.

Wouldn't the customs most likely just send a letter to you?

Also, if it was packaged nicely and said to be something completely different with the quickest shipping possible, it most likely won't get opened by customs right?

I don't know what is likely or not.
All i know is that two people are behind bars because of having peyote shipped to them from europe. Customs found it, cops show at their house with a search warrant. House wasn't clean. Jail.

I don't mean to instill unecessary paranoia. But the fact is, that story is real and it's recent.
Just a heads up.

That sucks!
Do you have a link to a news article or something?

I do not have any more details about it. Sorry. All i can say is that i personally trust its veracity.
It's worth what it's worth, so i guess you'll have to believe it if you want.
There aren't any press articles about it. At least that i know of.

Yeah, this happened within the last few months. They are out of jail now but only with a lot of luck on their sides. And just because they are out of jail doesn't mean it didn't affect them greatly they have incredible fines, hours of community service, federal parole for an ungodly amount of time and try finding a job with a felony on your record. Many people have ordered them in the past with no problems but that doesn't make it legal and it doesn't make you safe. This shit does happen. Just be smart.
Peace

peyote is legal here in canada(as long as you don't eat it lol) but if I was in the us I would stick with the other active cactus's that are available...unless u just really wanna grow it(I personally have no interest in growing something that may take more time to grow then my entire lifetime)

Actually if you graft it to a faster growing cactus like a pedro you can cut it down to less than 2 years.

Yeah, it surely doesn't take a lifetime to grow unless your lifetime is 12-15 years or less. I think it's really rewarding, just to be able to see this sacred plant grow.
